Orlando's father used to make his own tomato sauces and fruit preserves from any fruit that became available, especially mango because they had a vey productive old mango tree in their back yard. In 1980’s when Orlando was a teenager his father decided to introduce him to the art and techniques of fruit preservation. Orlando and his wife Maria are unconditional lovers of the culinary arts. In 2011 They were looking for a business opportunity, while visiting local Gourmet and Specialty food Stores they realized the lack of quality fruit preserves made out of tropical Florida fruits. After doing some research they decided to bring to the consumers the finest fruit preserves made out of Florida's Tropical fruits and one of the best food experiences they ever had.
The Royal Gourmet, Co. fruit preserves are handmade in small batches and cooked to perfection using copper pans, simmered with the freshest natural ingredients and allowed to thicken without the use of pectin. Their method allows them to have more natural sugar from the fruits, and lower calories than mass produced fruit preserves.
They use handpicked fruits from local farms in a 150 miles radius from Hollywood, Florida whenever possible. The fruit is carefully selected at its peak of ripeness and grown organically and/or using sustainable growing methods.
