Founded in 2009 in beautiful Ashland, Oregon, The French Connection produces the finest natural, delicious French inspired desserts. The first product developed by The French Connection was madeleines, a traditional French tea cake. Although customers loved them, it proved too difficult to distribute the madeleines and maintain freshness.
Lori went back to the kitchen and developed the recipe for Lori's Meringues. Seeking to create a blend of traditional French meringue and a meringue that would hold up over time and under refrigeration, Lori struck that perfect balance. Lori's Meringue Mushrooms and Acorns were introduced to rave reviews at the 2010 NASFT Fancy Food show in New York City. In the fall of 2011, a unique blend of Lori's Meringues was featured in the Williams-Sonoma catalog and in every North American Williams-Sonoma store. The Enchanted Forest Desserts, as the meringues were called, sold out quickly from all locations! Lori sold the meringue business in 2015 to focus more time on other products, including the unique and delicious Salt Caramel Syrup, available on Amazon.com.
Lori continues her passion for creating delicious, all natural confections and specialty food items, working to find creative ways to take traditional ideas and making them extraordinary.
