Born and raised in Illinois, Laura Ann Masura rocked her way through Chicago’s music scene, leading her to plant new roots across the country in Los Angeles. Following her band’s breakup, Laura Ann looked to food for inspiration, and while she had a great idea for an all-natural hot dog stand, she also had strong memories of learning to preserve with her grandmother as a child. After experimenting in her kitchen, using fruits from her backyard and herbs from the local farmer’s market, Laura Ann fell in love with the art, and started selling her spreads to friends and coworkers. Positive feedback was all it took for the former rocker to drop everything and dive headfirst into canning, and now she’s crafting jams that jam (see what we did there?) from fresh, local ingredients!
